  1. Can I become a Member? Not currently. Since we are a very small project, we’re keeping things simple. Maybe in the future …

  2. Can I volunteer or intern? We’re a very small project and don’t currently have the capacity to manage volunteers and interns. However, we do have one virtual need, if it interests you. Go to the Pittsburgh’s Silent History page on our site. See the people from the silent film industry that don’t have entries? If you’d like to do the research and write one or more of them, please email us (before you write anything) at pittsburghsilentfilmsociety@gmail.com.

  3. Is the Pittsburgh Silent Film Society & Festival a nonprofit organization? Soon! We’re currently applying for 501(c)3 charitable nonprofit status, which means we’ll be able to apply for grants and tax-deductible sponsorships and donations later in 2024.

  4. How can I get my venue/theater/organization involved with the annual silent film festival? Email us at pittsburghsilentfilmsociety@gmail.org to discuss.

  5. How can a musician or ensemble get involved? We don’t have a budget to bring in national acts, but happy to consider if you are already swinging through our way on a tour. Or if you are located within driving distance of Pittsburgh, please get in touch to share a sample of your music and discuss.
